Running in Runda estate
Karura forest is wet and muddy due to heavy rains so my LuPo ancestors led me discover running through the leafy suburb of Runda estate since I live nearby in “Runda view or Runda valley”!
This morning it was hard to kick out the warm blanket and kiss the cold. I convinced self and reminded me that keeping fit is good for my body, mind and soul.
And I knew if I refuse to, and sleep, later, I would feel guilty and unsettled the whole weekend. I don’t want my weekend to be messed up.
That is what a habit with passion does to you.
Am lucky my spirit conquered my weak body, I got out, joined some roadrunners for the first time, and did Runda circuit for about 15km in 1h 30 mins.
I had two great pacesetters, it was a real struggle to keep up with their pace and trying to convince my lungs to open up and let my adrenaline pump more blood and oxygen in it to cruise….
After 4O mins I remembered am not “Chebarbar in the coming, in the going”…..I couldn’t keep up with the gentlemen’s pace so I let them cruise and I maintained my pace “mdogo mdogo tu” but sure.
I ran until I got lost in Runda estate! They had to come back for me. I was running all over the place blindly admiring huge mansions,“wishy wishing” until I missed my exit!
We all live, but there are those who live real big life! However, remember, we all must keep fit regardless of where and how we live! “Sindio”?
