Don’t give up boy!
That ugly unexpected moment of our life when we have to fight hard sickle cell anaemia and it’s complications! Why in January when we are still excited with the new year things?
Hey warrior, you need to defeat this menace and go back to school. Remember you are going to class 4 Neptune, you have an empty desk waiting for you in front as usual! Your new desk mate is wondering, “who is Gad? Is he a short-put? Is he a tall burger? Is he as fat as a pig?” Soonest he will feed his curiosity right. He was in class 3 Neptune last year that is why. You also have a new class teacher waiting to see you! It’s not teacher Salim. You need to meet her or him and observe with keenness and see how you will build rapport so that you get along till the end of the year!
To make it exciting, the new education curriculum has been launched. It’s 3-3-3*…….not yet registered in mind and not easy to master like 8-4-4. You are the last lot of 8-4-4 in about 30 years since it’s inception. You are history makers on the finish line.
Your mischievous sister Jan misses you and she can’t help it! She is so lonely at home. She has no one to fight with which channel to watch or to tell those little stories of yours! Her little secrets are itching her too!
Everyday in school she has to explain why you are out of school and give progress of your condition to your friends and mates.
She is bursting with numerous stories to share with you about school holiday escapades that she was told. It’s your turn when you get back to school to narrate your ushago escapades too. She did her part!
And do you know what? Momma has to go back to work! Her in tray is spilling over!
Since God said it shall be well, healing is your portion. Get well soon my son. I need to see you back on your feet strong. We need to kick football. We need to go to Karura and ride our bikes. Karura misses us so much! We haven’t visited her this year imagine!
When the sun rises, it gives rays of hope, so I know we are going home! You are going back to school! Am going back to work too!
